VK2735 is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist developed by Viking Therapeutics, in the same broad class as tirzepatide. It is being developed in both a once-weekly subcutaneous form and an oral tablet form. The subcutaneous version is in the Phase 3 VANQUISH program (VANQUISH-1 and VANQUISH-2), with VANQUISH-1 enrollment of roughly 4,650 adults completed in November 2025, while the Phase 2 VENTURE trials, including a 13-week oral dosing study, showed meaningful weight loss.
VK2735 is investigational and not approved. This is an educational tracking guide, not medical advice or a recommendation.
In the trials, VK2735 is dose-escalated over weeks to a maintenance dose to limit GI effects. The subcutaneous form is once weekly; the oral tablet is dosed daily and is being evaluated in its own studies. Any dose figures are trial context only, never a recommendation.
Phase 3 readouts will define real efficacy and safety; Phase 2 data are promising but preliminary. Weight loss is gradual and diet-dependent, and part of rapid loss can be lean mass, so protein and resistance training belong in the plan.
VK2735 is investigational and not FDA approved as of mid-2026. Expect incretin-class GI effects and heart-rate changes, and consider any non-trial access outside the evidence base. Use only with medical supervision.
